    • Is the Delta Pacific Online Program program accredited?
      The Delta Pacific Online program is offered by Delta Charter School, a California public charter school fully accredited by The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

      Who will issue my diploma?
      Upon successful completion of the required credits for graduation and successfully passing the ELA and Math CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exams), Delta Charter School will issue your diploma.

      Will I attend a graduation ceremony?
      Yes! Plans are being developed to accommodate a graduation ceremony for Delta Pacific Online program students.

    • How does this online education work?
      Because all of our courses are online, your class schedule is flexible; class begins when you login and ends when you log out. Our online curriculum is rigorous, engaging, and self-paced. All of our courses are backed by our highly qualified staff of California highly qualified teachers who are available via instant message, phone, or email. In addition, you have access to a California credentialed Education Coordinator who knows you by name and will develop an educational personalized learning plan and guide you through your educational journey.

      When do I attend class?
      Just as in a traditional school, students must engage in their coursework regularly and show daily progress. Students may log in to their courses any time of the day or evening; Failure to do so regularly may result in disciplinary action up to and including disenrollment from the program.

      How quickly can I move through the course?
      All of our courses are set up on a 120 calendar day schedule, similar to a typical semester. However, you move through the course at your own pace, spending as much time on each individual lesson as you need within each semester. YOU CAN EVEN FINISH EARLY!

      What is the schedule like?
      Our courses are semester-length courses. You must complete your courses within the semester it is assigned to receive credit.

      As an online student, do I have to attend school in a classroom?
      No, students who are in the online program have the flexibility to learn from the setting of their choosing. However, we do offer a resource center for those students who need a bit more structure or personal assistance in their learning.

    • Can I take classes part-time and still be a part of Delta Pacific Online Program?
      Currently, we are only offering this program for full-time students.

      How many courses must a full-time student take?
      Just as in a traditional school, students are expected to take a minimum of 6 courses (30 credit hours) per semester to ensure successful progress towards educational expectations for their grade level.

      Is online learning for me?
      The online student must take responsibility for his or her own learning. In any online education program, the student must be a self-directed learner, have internal motivation to manage his or her own learning during the course of study, initiate and seek assistance when needed, and have a basic grasp of Internet navigation. Delta Pacific Online program requires students to schedule the appropriate time for their coursework, in order to succeed. We provide you with full support along the way.

      Are there any age restrictions?
      The program is available to students up to age 19. If a student is over the age of 19, they have to have been enrolled in a public school without a break and making satisfactory progress towards a high school diploma AND are not over the age of 22. Some other restrictions may apply.

      What grade levels does Delta Pacific Online Program serve?
      Delta Pacific Online Program serves students in grades 6-12.

      Does it matter where I live?
      Yes, Delta Pacific Online program can provide educational services to students who live in San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Sacramento, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, Amador, or Calaveras counties. Students will need to be able to attend orientation meetings at our Tracy, CA resource center. In addition, if you are not making adequate progress from home, you may be required to take your courses online at our resource center under the supervision of our Education Coordinator. All students will be required to come to the resource center to take all mid-terms and finals in our proctored facility.

      Can students with IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) participate in the program?
      We will work hard to accommodate students with an IEP or 504. With that being said, the online learning experience may not adequately accommodate all IEP or 504 students. Students with an IEP or 504 will be evaluated on an individual basis by an Administrator to ensure the opportunity for the student's success.

      Can I enroll in Delta Pacific Online Program if I have been expelled or pending expulsion at my current school?
      Students who have been expelled or are pending expulsion will be required to provide details of the incident that resulted in the expulsion or pending expulsion. These students will be evaluated on an individual basis by an Administrator to ensure the correct educational fit for the student.

      Can I participate in sports or activities with the online program?
      Currently, students in the online only program cannot participate in sports or activities at Delta Charter School.

      As an online student, am I ever required to be on-site?
      As an online student enrolled in Delta Pacific Online Program, you are not required to attend school on-site except for mid-terms and finals, which are required proctored tests. If you are not making adequate progress in your courses from home, you may be required to take your courses online at our resource center under the supervision of an Education Coordinator. All students and their parent/guardian are required to come to an initial interview at the Delta Charter main campus prior to acceptance. Upon acceptance, all students and their parent/guardian are required to attend an orientation meeting prior to beginning the program.

    • Who is my teacher?
      Your teacher for each course is a California highly qualified credentialed teacher who has experience teaching online courses. Your first introduction to your teacher will be in a welcome phone call once your enrollment is approved. Your teacher will give you an overview of the course and answer any questions you have.

      Who is my Education Coordinator?
      Your Education Coordinator (EC) is a California credentialed teacher who has experience in working with students in independent study programs. Your first introduction to your EC will be at your orientation meeting once your enrollment is completed. Your EC will review all your courses with you, discuss the expectations of the program, develop and explain your personalized learning plan and course completion commitments, and determine a regular communication plan to ensure ongoing communication and program progress review. Your EC is your contact point for any program questions, course completion and/or mastery concerns, expectation clarifications, graduation planning or general questions. They are here to mentor and assist you to a successful educational experience.

      How can I contact my teacher and/or Education Coordinator?
      You may contact your assigned teacher instantly through our popular instant messaging service. Also, you may use e-mail, fax, or toll-free telephone to contact your online teacher or credentialed Education Coordinator. You can access one-on-one teacher support from Sunday 10pm – Friday at 8pm. Education Coordinators are available Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm. And, our technical support team monitors the phones 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week to assist you with technical difficulties.

      What do I need to do to succeed in a Delta Pacific Online Program course?
      When you take an online course you need to prepare yourself as you would for any course in a classroom setting. In an online course, time management, accurate note taking, self-responsibility and organization is critical to success. Because you choose when to study, it is important that you schedule your time effectively. Because you choose how to study, you must be an independent learner. Because you choose to succeed, you must be self-motivated. With DPOP, you take charge of your education – and your own success.

      What materials are needed in order to take Delta Pacific Online Program courses?
      The majority of the courses offered by Delta Pacific Online program can be taken online from home, the computer lab, or from our resource center so there is very little need for any additional materials, except for some advanced courses. All you truly need to begin your coursework is a study area free from interruption and excessive noise, notebook and pencil, internet access and a computer.

      Who chooses my courses?
      Courses that a student is required to take are dependent on the student's prior transcript and progress towards graduation. Students express their desired courses by filling out a course request form during the registration process. After review and approval by our academic counselors, the student courses are assigned.

      Do I need a high-speed connection?
      You can successfully access of our courses with a dial-up Internet connection, but we recommend high-speed access for the best experience.
